Technical Writer & Customer Advocate

SupportRemoteContract

About the Role

We're looking for someone who can wear a few hats: write clear help documentation, handle light customer support, and serve as a friendly first point of contact for new accounts. This is a part-time contract role (10-15 hours/week) that blends writing, support, and relationship building.

StorageFlow is a self-storage management platform. Our users are facility operators — practical people who want straightforward answers, not jargon. You'll help them succeed by creating great documentation and being there when they have questions.

What You'll Do

  • Write and maintain help center articles, getting-started guides, and feature documentation
  • Respond to customer support inquiries via email (low volume — we're early stage)
  • Onboard new accounts with a personal touch — welcome emails, check-in calls, quick walkthroughs
  • Create short tutorial content (written guides, possibly light video scripts)
  • Surface common pain points and feature requests back to the product team
  • Keep the knowledge base accurate as features ship and change

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills — clear, concise, no fluff
  • Comfortable explaining software to non-technical users
  • Friendly and patient communicator (email and occasional calls)
  • Self-directed — can identify what needs documenting without being told
  • Bonus: experience in SaaS support, property management, or small business software

Benefits

  • Flexible hours (10-15 hrs/week)
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Remote — async-first culture
  • Direct impact — you're the voice customers hear
  • Grow the role as the customer base grows
